In the race for state representative in the 18th Essex District, Democrat Tram Nguyen of Andover picked up endorsements from U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton and U.S. Sen. Ed Markey.
Moulton said in statement he was impressed by Nguyen’s commitment to public service in her career as a legal aid attorney.
“Tram deeply understands the challenges residents of the 18th Essex District face and she is the perfect person to advocate for them,” Moulton said.
She also received an endorsement from state Attorney General Maura Healey and EMILY’s List, an organization that works to increase the number of Democratic female candidates for elected office.
“Tram Nguyen is dedicated to fighting the opioid epidemic, advancing common-sense gun laws, and promoting the future of the state through education and environmental reform,” Healey said in a statement. “I know that she will continue to fight for these causes if elected as State Representative, and I would be proud to work alongside her everyday fighting for the people of Massachusetts.”
