A few months ago, Democrats Tram Nguyen, of Andover, and Christina Minicucci,, of North Andover were embarking on their first run at elected office.
On Wednesday, they were inaugurated as North Andover’s two state representatives.
“I just took the oath of office, and I’m so excited to be working with everyone,” Nguyen said outside the House Gallery.
Nguyen, a legal aid attorney with Greater Boston Legal Services, won the Essex 18th House seat (encompassing parts of Andover, North Andover, Boxford and Tewksbury) in what was seen as a long-shot campaign for her in November’s elections, unseating four-term state Rep. Jim Lyons, R-Andover.
